There are problems all over the world. Many Muslims right now are failing marriage and making terrible consequences like divorce or a desire to reconcile. The problems are common, but if we treat them with extra care we can gently surpass them. Many Muslims couple, whether a husband or a Muslim wife treat each other like adversaries. The wife feels that she can do whatever she wants and the husband thinks that he is the boss. Some wives always complain about the husband’s economic impact and some husbands always complain about the wife’s whereabouts.
Both can feel like a failure and end up making decisions that impact their lives in a great deal. So to cope up with the problem and any unpleasant situation in a husband and wife relationship, here are some tips that you can follow to improve your marriage.
Don’t Be Aggressive
Islam has made the husband the head of the house, it doesn’t mean that they can become dictators and set their own rules. A husband is taught to treat his wife well and to support their decisions when required. The most perfect man in Islam is the one that has faith in his wife.
Be a Partner in Decision Making
Whatever important matters come in hand, you should always consult your partner before making a final decision. Once both are on the same page, you can start the matter. There will be much more harmony in a husband-wife relationship if they have a mutual understanding.
Always be positive in front of your partner. Be kind, gentle loving, and caring. If a woman has left her house and starts living in your house after marriage, you should respect her. If a man is doing everything to accompany your needs, you should respect him as well. From both sides, showing affection to one another is very helpful.
Be Your Spouse Friend
You can become your spouse’s best friend and show interest in their life. Of course, all of us have a life before marriage, start a discussion of any previous events and if you have a skipped plan in the past, now is the time to achieve it.
Be Careful of Your Words
Whenever you’re upset or in a bad mood, don’t use any harsh words that might hurt your spouse. Sometimes we say things that we are not supposed to say. We do this because we are angry and not pleased with the environment. Talk with your partner once you’re calm down, don’t be angry in front of him/her.
Always appreciate your partner whatever the reason. If she has cooked something special, compliment her. If he has achieved something in his work life, appreciate him by saying you have got what you deserve. There are so many small things that show appreciation in front of your partner. If you always complain about something they have achieved through hard work, they will surely be angry with you.
Women are not compiled to do every household work. A husband can also help her in washing dishes, cleaning the house, and in any other place that requires some help. Using the same approach, a woman can also help a man manage his clothes for the office, prepare a meal for him, etc.
Communication is Important
We are so tangled in our everyday lives that we forget to share our thoughts and desire with partners. A husband and wife should talk to each other whatever the scenario. It is one of the easiest ways to secure a long-lasting relationship.
Respect the Boundaries
Always respect the personal space of your partner. If he/she doesn’t want to talk for a bit and is under depression, then you should allow them some personal time. Sometimes they just want to be alone and do something that makes them feel good. You can support their decision and start helping them after they’re done.
